Project 2003 SP2

Bug fixin’ goodness from our friends on the Project Team…

Tons of fixes (like 175) for both Project and Project Server

What’s Fixed

Get it Project 2003 SP2 Here

Get Project Server 2003 SP2 Here

And remember, if you are patching Project Server make sure that you read the directions VERY closely. The most common problems seen after an SP is released is that someone did not do all the steps. Yes you are smart and yes you are talented but do not try to be smarter than the upgrade. :-)

The Server SP2 has 3 (well 4 really) basic steps:

1. Upgrade the DB.

2. Patch the Server

3. Upgrade the WSS Template

4. Patch the client machines with Project 2003 SP2

Number 1 is the one that everybody forgets. Don’t be an Everybody! :-)

New Project Blog

Dieter Zirkler has just started a blog about the upcoming version of Project\Project Server here.

You should care about this because Dieter is the manager of the people that design Project and Project Server! You should read it because Dieter has the info and is VERY good and communicating technical details and broad vision in a way that makes it all very easy to grasp. I have seen almost countless presentations of his at various events and always come out feeling smarter.

The blog might be new but it is an automatic must read for anyone that wants to keep up on what is going on in the Project world.

Welcome to the blogosphere Dieter!

Not Kidnapped by Aliens...

…just very, very busy.

I hope to get back on the blogging wagon shortly. I have had some very pressing projects going on and they have not left much time for, well anything really.

You might find some of my old stuff interesting though. Here are some archive links:
