This Should be Interesting to Watch...

Primavera just released this product: Primavera IT Project Office This is an IT Governance application.

Pacific Edge has had the phrase "Project Office" as a trademark for at least 5 years. They also just broke into the IT Governance market recently with this product.

Pacific Edge has lawyers and they are not afraid to use them. I used to work there, I have seen it and it is not pretty. The people that run Pacific Edge now are hard core to say the least. This 'coincidence' is going to go over like a lead balloon.

I think this one will get messy.

Friends Don't Let Friends...let their RSS aggregators pull feeds once an hour!

RSS is in DANGER as a technology! There are WAY too many people that have their aggregators set to pull their feeds once an hour or even more often than that! The danger this poses is that if everyone does this and RSS becomes popular sites that provide feeds will get killed on bandwidth! Already Microsoft is having to move to partial posts because of this on their MSDN feeds. Scoble is talked about it today. He gets his once a day. I generally was setting mine to pull twice a day. One nice thing is that NewsGator, the reader I use, allows for a general default pull timing but then lets you specify a different timing for other feeds and even lets you turn off automatic pulls and leave it to you to hit the button to get your feeds.

Look into these options for your reader and only pull your feeds as often as you really need them. Do you really need to read what Scoble or Slashdot or even what I post the same hour I post it? I bet not.

If we don't self police on this RSS will kill itself!

The Shoes of the Cobblers Children!

I'm working on finishing a very large (1800 square feet) of unfinished space in the upper floor of my house.

It is with no small pleasure that my wife pointed out to me this morning that I had not done any formal planning, had no Gantt charts or diagrams or supporting documents for this pretty big project. She hears me talking about all this with my clients and coworkers all the time and here I am in the middle of a huge project and I don't have it in MS Project!

Oh the Irony!

Now I HAVE to put it in Project and resource level myself! :-)

ProjectSteps

There is a new Project Blog in town...and its name is Project Steps.

Stephen Seay has some good things to add to the community. Check it out!

His RSS (well really Atom) feed is not shown on his blog that I could find but here it is:
